Oenone Hammersley

Artist Oenone Hammersley generously donates the use of her images to the WLT for a variety of purposes, including the covers of several issues of WLT News and as Christmas and Greeting card designs. Clearly influenced by the work and colour of Gauguin, Matisse and Rousseau, Oenone has created her own distinctive style, and specialises in painting rainforests and wildlife.

She has been exhibiting since 1980, with shows in the USA, UK, Europe and Africa. Drawing inspiration from her expeditions to S E Asia, India, Africa and Latin America, she is committed to furthering the cause of conservation through her work. Oenone was born in England, studying theatre design and printmaking in London and currently lives in Alexandria, Virginia, USA.
