Spirax‐Sarco Engineering plc is a thermal energy management and niche pumping specialist which comprises three world‐leading businesses, including Steam Specialties, for the control and management of steam; Electric Thermal Solutions, for advanced electrical process heating and temperature management solutions; and Watson‐Marlow, for peristaltic pumping and associated fluid path technologies. Protecting and restoring biodiversity is one of the six strategic initiatives which the Group is delivering.

The Company identified that the most significant impact its direct operations have on nature is the land it occupies.  It calculated the total area of its global operational footprint to be (517 acres). The Group agreed to take a nature positive approach and offset the equivalent area of its operational footprint each year for five years (a total of 2,585 acres).

To achieve this, Spirax-Sarco Engineering partnered with World Land Trust (WLT), to support the establishment of a new nature reserve on the Somuncurá Plateau in Argentinian Patagonia.
