Based in Germany, Leef works in cooperation with local smallholders in India to produce sustainable plates made from palm leaves. A by-product of the Areca palm, which is grown to produce the betel nut, fallen palm leaves are hand-collected by local farmers in rural areas of India, and then cleaned, dried and pressed. Free from additives, Leef’s palm leaf plates will biodegrade in 3 months and are packaged for transport in 100 per cent natural and compostable materials.

Leef has supported WLT since 2015, to save and protect 1 square metre of tropical forest through every plate sold. Leef donations are funding land purchase in El Pantanoso Reserve Argentina through Buy an Acre.
