Syrian Brown Bear sighted in Caucasus Wildlife Refuge

Recent camera-trap footage from the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge has recorded a Syrian Brown Bear (Ursus arctos syriacus), a subspecies of Brown Bear native to Eurasia. This is an important recording as there may be just one or two bears in the reserve and the Red Data Book of Armenia lists them as vulnerable.

Not a lot'a otter

This young otter was seen recently in the Rio Zunac Reserve, managed by Fundación EcoMinga, one of WLT's conservation partners in Ecuador. The Neotropical Otter (or Neotropical River Otter - Lontra longicaudis), is one of the rarest resident mammals on the reserve and it was a very special sighting.
