Based in rural Hampshire, Naturetrek has been organising specialist wildlife holidays for 27 years. Today, the company offers the largest selection of professionally organised wildlife holidays and tours in the world; their leaders and guides all being expert and enthusiatic naturalists and conservationists skilled at ensuring a stunning wildlife experience.
Recognising the threat of dangerous climate change, Naturetrek is keen to address the environmental impact of its tours and therefore contributes towards the offsetting of carbon emissions for all its clients' flights, currently donating £15 (on behalf of every long-haul traveller) and £5 (on behalf of every short-haul traveller) to WLT’s Carbon Balanced programme. This donation is funding the purchase and protection of critically endangered forest in Ecuador and, in protecting forest that would otherwise be chopped down and burnt, Naturetrek is preventing the release of stored carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, therefore helping to mitigate the negative effects associated with the air travel of every Naturetrek wildlife tour.
Naturetrek's support since 2008 has been directed to WLT's Ecuadorian partner, Fundacion EcoMinga and has funded the purchase of critically threatened forest adjacent to the Cerro Candelaria reserve, owned and protected by Fundacion EcoMinga.
