Maidenhead Aquatics

Maidenhead Aquatics was established in 1984 and is now the UK’s leading specialist aquatic retailer. A highly reputable aquatic company, they have a strict code of practice to ensure the welfare of fish, and would never knowingly sell fish that had not been ethically sourced. The company actively promotes responsible fish-keeping among their customers.

Maidenhead Aquatics has been supporting World Land Trust (WLT) in various ways since 2010. From the outset, a group of stores have donated £1 to WLT for every fish box sold, in support of WLT’s Action Fund. As of April 2016, total donations from fish box sales reached over £11,000.

Additionally, WLT collecting boxes are on the counters of several stores and Maidenhead Aquatics customers respond very generously to give extra support to WLT projects.

In 2014 Maidenhead Aquatics donated an additional £725 to WLT, following a charity raffle held in three Fishkeeper Scotland stores in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness.

Also in 2014, Maidenhead Aquatics celebrated its 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion and 30 years of fishkeeping excellence, they designed a commemorative Bag for Life. Made from natural, renewable and sturdy jute fibres, and available in all stores, £1 from the sale of each bag has been donated to WLT to buy and forever preserve a named sector of Las Tangaras Reserve in Colombia.

In 2015 Maidenhead announced that its donations to WLT could be used as match funding for Steve Backshall’s kayak fundraising challenge.
