World Land Trust Patrons and Ambassador are honorary roles given to someone who truly represents the spirit and values of WLT. They help champion our work by raising awareness, inspiring others, and sharing our mission with their own communities and networks. We are extremely proud of the relationships Patrons and Ambassadors and are grateful for the support they provide in highlighting the importance of our conservation projects.

Sir David Attenborough

Sir David Attenborough is Britain’s best known and most loved Natural History Filmmaker. Sir David has supported the work of the WLT since its foundation in 1989 and became a WLT patron in 2003.

Steve Backshall

Wildlife presenter, author and adventurer Steve Backshall MBE is an avid champion of nature and discovery and become a WLT Patron in 2016.

David Gower

Best known as an English cricketer and television personality, David Gower OBE has a life-long love of wildlife and became World Land Trust’s first Patron in 1997.

Chris Packham

Charismatic television presenter, spectacular wildlife photographer, author and wildlife expert, Chris Packham CBE joined Sir David Attenborough and David Gower as a patron of WLT in 2013.

Georgia Barker

Georgia is a wildlife photographer, filmmaker and storyteller from Essex. What began as a simple love for birds has grown into a mission to help others see the beauty and importance of the natural world.

Mark Carwardine

Zoologist Mark Carwardine is an environmental activist, an award-winning writer, a TV and radio presenter, a widely published wildlife photographer, a best-selling author, and a BBC Wildlife magazine columnist. The author of more than 50 books, he is best known for presenting the popular BBC-TV series Last Chance to See with actor and comedian Stephen Fry, and the weekly half-hour programme Nature on BBC Radio 4.

Sarah Class

Award winning, BRIT and Emmy nominated Sarah Class has become one of Britain’s most sought-after composers, she is an accomplished musician, producer, songwriter, and singer, creating scores for film, television and the concert arena.

Dr Lee Durrell

Dr Lee Durrell is Honorary Director of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which operates one of the world’s foremost centres for breeding endangered species and training conservationists, at its headquarters in Jersey.

Helen Glover OBE

Helen Glover OBE is a British double Olympic champion, triple World champion and quadruple European champion in rowing.

Paul Goodenough

Paul Goodenough is an award-winning, purpose-driven storyteller and entrepreneur, working in the environmental, charity and entertainment sectors.

Rachael Hawnt

Rachael Hawnt is a singer, composer, and songwriter from the south of England. Having written music and songs that have been featured on video games, film trailers, and advertising across the globe over the past 20 years. Rachael is no stranger to the positive power of music and it’s impactful influence. As a live performer, Rachael tours with her ‘So Cher’ and Divalution theatre production shows after winning ITV’s Starstruck in 2022.

From successful businessman to Seven Summits mountaineer, Nick has had to master the intricacies of survival and success.

Nightwish

WLT’s relationship with Nightwish began in 2019, when we first talked about collaborating and lead singer Floor auctioned a personal portrait from artist Lucas van de Wakker to raise money for WLT.
