Professor Greg Whyte OBE

Professor Greg Whyte OBE understands what it takes to turn an apparently impossible physical challenge into something achievable.  A sports scientist, clinical exercise physiologist and former Olympic modern pentathlete, Greg represented Great Britain at the 1992 Barcelona Games and is a World and European medallist. He is now Professor Emeritus of Applied Sport and Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University and Visiting Professor at the Extreme Environments Laboratory at the University of Portsmouth.  Since 2006, he has coached some of Britain’s best-known charity challengers, including David Walliams for his Channel swim and Eddie Izzard for 43 marathons in 51 days.  His work combines elite performance science with a practical understanding of what happens when ordinary people attempt extraordinary things.
