The Colombian Plump Frog is a small nocturnal frog found in Panama and the Magdalena Valley of northern Colombia.

Behaviour

The Colombian Plump Frog is a burrowing species, which lays its eggs directly into bodies of water during the rainy season. In the dry season, it is believed that they live inside of termite nests.

Habitat

The Colombian Plump Frog generally lives in forested areas with mid to low rainfall and still water, into which they can lay their eggs.

Threats and Conservation

The IUCN has described the species as being of Least Concern on the Red List, but has also noted that it may face some habitat loss from coal mining and agriculture, however, the general population trend of the species is not yet known.
