The money that is given to World Land Trust, in my estimation, has more effect on the wild world than almost anything I can think of.Sir David Attenborough
How grants transform our work
Network of NGO partners
World Land Trust and our growing network of NGO partners around the world are at the forefront of direct conservation action. Our work prioritises habitat protection and community involvement, so precious biodiversity is not lost forever. Long-term partnerships are at the heart of our operational model, with projects proposed and delivered entirely by NGOs local to the project area.
Grant funding is a vital resource allowing us to support these partners and extend the impacts of our work together. It’s key to our philosophy that it takes many equal partners working together to deliver sustainable conservation success. This includes not just WLT and our partner NGOs but also project area communities and the funders who make these projects possible. As part of this, we prioritise communication with our funders around the project challenges and outcomes which are so key to informing future project design.
Our key programmes
Many of our projects are grouped as part of our key programmes, which you can browse below, but please do always get in touch to discover our full range of projects. With over 50 NGO partners, there is a limit to the number of projects we can publicise at any one time.
Grants also underpin our matched funding appeals, so if you would like to maximise the effectiveness of a grant by supporting public donations, we will be delighted to discuss this with you.
Transformational projects
As human populations rise and pressures on surviving wilderness grow, our partners are designing increasingly complex and ambitious projects to effectively address the diverse issues our world’s landscapes are facing. These multi-dimensional projects can include:
● Land purchase
● Creation of community conservation areas
● Habitat restoration
● Monitoring and research
● Reserve Management
● Support for our partners’ organisational capacity
If you would be interested in discussing development and funding of a transformational project with World Land Trust please get in touch to speak to our CEO and Head of Programmes.
Grantmaking enquiries
We would love to speak to you in person to discuss your specific grant-making requirements and any questions you may have about our work.
If your foundation or Donor Advised fund is based outside the UK, we have the following equivalency options and donation routes in place:
● USA: WLT holds an Equivalency Determination with CAF America.
● Europe: We are a member of the Transnational Giving Europe network. Please get in touch with us to use this donation route, letting us know your country of operation.
● We welcome support from foundations around the world, alongside grant-makers such as companies or institutions. We will also be delighted to discuss alternate funding mechanisms such as conservation loans for urgent land purchase.
