BIAZA

BIAZA (the British and Irish Association of Zoos and Aquariums) is the professional body representing the best zoos and aquariums in Britain and Ireland.

More than 100 zoo and aquariums are members of BIAZA. These members pride themselves on their excellent animal welfare, education and conservation work.

BIAZA leads and supports its members and helps promote the work of good zoos and aquariums.

By pulling together to save precious habitat, BIAZA members are achieving a really significant conservation goal.

Conservation with World Land Trust

Since 2006 BIAZA has been working with World Land Trust (WLT) to support in-situ conservation projects. BIAZA financially supported the purchase of the BIAZA Reserve in Brazil and has funded rangers at the BIAZA Reserve and in reserves in Armenia, Mexico and Borneo through BIAZA Keepers of the Wild.

BIAZA Argentina through BIAZA Buy an Acre. This followed a successful campaign to raise funds for land purchase in Mexico in 2014, and new fundraising is now underway in Vietnam.

As well as making financial contributions, BIAZA promotes the conservation projects to members via news stories in the BIAZA member magazine and email updates.

In 2017 BIAZA launched their Helping Habitats campaign to replace their historic Buy an Acre support.

The first project under this campaign is supporting Khe Nuoc Trong in Vietnam.
