World Land Trust (WLT) would like to congratulate long-time supporter, The Body Shop, upon receiving B Corp certification, verifying them as a business that ‘live the highest social and environmental standards for people and the planet.’
Christopher Davis, International Director of Sustainability at The Body Shop said: “We’ve always admired the B Corp movement and what it stands for. It’s been a long-held ambition to achieve certification, and we’re tremendously proud. We are ready to lend our voice wherever we can and speak out on the revolution in business practice which embodies the philosophy of the B Corp movement.”

The area supported by The Body Shop was purchased by REGUA in 2011
The Body Shop received B Corp certification, something shared with over 3,000 B Corps in 150 industries and 60 countries across the globe, after demonstrating their commitment to balancing profit and purpose after assessment from B. Lab in five key areas of governance, workers, customers, community and environment. As a business that has always had ethical and environmental concerns at its core, some of the initiatives that helped achieve B Corp certification included their Forever Against Animal Testing campaign, in-store recycling, and changing their legal status to a Triple Bottom Line Business.
The Body Shop has supported WLT for many years in a variety of ways. Most recently, they supported WLT through their World Bio-Bridges Mission. The WBBM has supported several projects with WLT and our partners in Guatemala, India and they continue to support work in Vietnam with Viet Nature to protect threatened habitat and wildlife in Khe Nuoc Trong, Vietnam.
