By John Burton, WLT Founder CEO
The latest issue of WLT News published on 27th March mentions one of our supporters, Kamila Zahno, who became a great advocate for leaving a legacy to WLT. When she came to us a few years ago she knew that her cancer was incurable and it was very moving to open my copy of the newsletter and see her picture, on the day we heard she had passed away.
Kamila would be proud to know that not only did she remember WLT in her will, she left another lasting legacy by her indefatigable enthusiasm for WLT, and throughout her courageous battle with cancer. Her own words in a short film she made with us are more eloquent than I can be today:
She certainly led a very interesting life, described in her book Chasing Ghosts, and was dedicated to a number of causes as well as conservation, after spending most of her career in the community and voluntary sector.
Kamila became a personal friend to many of us and we will all miss her very much. But she would be so thrilled to know that we are able to help fulfil some of her dreams. Kamila Zahno was a truly inspirational person.
