Wild Travel, an official media partner of World Land Trust (WLT) during the Trust’s 25th Anniversary year, is developing a partnership with book supplier WildSounds that will help raise funds for WLT.
WildSounds is now running the Wild Travel reader bookshop and offering exclusive discounts to Wild Travel readers. As part of the arrangement, WildSounds will allocate a percentage of the sale price of books ordered by Wild Travel readers to WLT.
WildSounds is a leading international supplier of wildlife books, audio and multimedia guides and field recording equipment. WildSounds’ founders, Duncan Macdonald and Pieter Wessels, are committed to conservation and support many wildlife charities through the WildSounds Commission for Conservation scheme.
Based in Salthouse, Norfolk, WildSounds donates a proportion of its profits to bird conservation organisations including the British Birdwatching Fair, Hawk and Owl Trust and Norfolk Wildlife Trust. WildSounds is the Species Champion for the highly endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper (Eurynorhynchus pygmeus), through BirdLife International‘s Globally Threatened Species Programme.
“This is an exciting new venture for us and we hope that over time we will be able to raise some useful funds for World Land Trust,” said Sheena Harvey of Wild Travel. “We’re sure our readers will appreciate the discount benefits they will get by ordering the books and DVDs we feature in Wild Travel through WildSounds, and the chance it gives them to donate to such a worthwhile cause at the same time.”
“Thank you to our media partner Wild Travel for making a connection between World Land Trust and WildSounds,” said John Burton, WLT’s Chief Executive. “We are very pleased to be associated with WildSounds, which offers a very wide range of wildlife publications and resources, and is clearly committed to supporting conservation.”
