World Land Trust (WLT) is expanding its Finance team by appointing a Financial Controller (part-time). This position offers a real opportunity to make a powerful impact in an organisation committed to the long-term conservation of the world’s critically threatened habitats and their endangered species.

WLT is based in the UK and is unique within the conservation world. Reaching its 30th year of operation the Trust has grown from small beginnings, saving critically threatened forest in Belize to become an internationally respected conservation organisation with a proven track record, working with 32 overseas conservation NGOs on protection of threatened habitats. WLT has developed its modus operandi without losing its vision, integrity and transparency.
Summary of the role
The Financial Controller is responsible for managing a small accounts team and ensuring the integrity of the financial systems and controls of the organisation to assist WLT in meeting its aims and legal obligations. They are responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely reporting is delivered both internally and externally for the organisation as well as the continual development and improvement in the efficiency of processes and procedures.
Who we’re looking for
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Accountant with a driven and proactive approach and strong technical skills. You will have an analytical mindset and be happy to have a “hands on” approach. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage and develop staff that you manage and build rapport with staff across the organisation.
The post is part time (3 days per week), based in WLT’s offices in Halesworth, Suffolk.
Salary i.r.o £35,000 – £37,000 FTE
