Saving threatened habitats worldwide

Lesley Wood Photography

As well as being a qualified professional photographer specialising in people, pet and horse photography Lesley is also an associate of the SINWP (Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers). She came to WLT after being encouraged by the Trust's Patron, Sir David Attenborough to contact us with her offer of support through a special Limited Edition Print, Jewel of the Forest. This photograph is now available and all donations raised through its sale are directed to WLT's Buy an Acre project saving threatened habitats in Ecuador with Nature & Culture International.

Jewel of the Forest

Lesley photographed this Crimzon-rumped Toucanet (Aulacorhynchus haematopygus) while walking in the Mindo Cloud Forest in Ecuador. It was early morning and the sun was beginning to rise through the cloud forest mist. Perched high up in the canopy it seemed to be posing for a photograph. "The bird's emerald green plumage shone like a jewel in the forest", she said.
