SMS Donations - the 'small print'

Texts cost £3 of which on average £2.19 (73%) should be received by the the WLT.

Donations by SMS are subject to standard network charges applied to your original text messages. These vary from network to network. When you send the donation text message, WLT to 84424, we will reply with a reverse-billed confirmation message, charged to your mobile phone bill or pre-paid account with £3. A fraction of this is deducted by the mobile networks as a service charge. On average the WLT should receive £2.19 per SMS. This excludes Virgin Mobile customers, from whom WLT will receive £2.18 per message.

How we keep in touch

We do not currently contact our supporters via text messages, but if you have included your email address in the SMS we will send you monthly email updates. In the future, if you donate by SMS you may receive occasional text messages from the World Land Trust. Read our Privacy Statement for full details and instructions on how to opt out.

Problems donating?

If you do not receive a confirmation message your donation was not successful and you will not be charged. If this happens, contact your network for help. Your telephone may be set to block reverse-billed text messages.

What about 87050?

Our earlier SMS donation number was 87050. We are no longer using this. Please rest assured that the World Land Trust have never and will not charge your mobile phone for ongoing services. Our SMS donation service to 87050 would have charged your phone only once - when you sent the text message. Other companies and organisations are however using the number 87050 for subscription services. Normally to cancel these you would need to text STOP to the same number.
