Gift Aid

What is Gift Aid?

The Gift Aid scheme enables the World Land Trust (WLT) to reclaim the basic rate of tax on all donations made, at no extra cost to you. If you pay income or capital gains tax in the UK at least equal to the amount the WLT claims, we can reclaim 28p for every £1 you donate. Note that only donations from individuals (that is, not company or school donations) are eligible for Gift Aid . You may notify the WLT of the cancellation of this declaration at any time, and it is your responsibility to do so, should your tax status change.

When is a donation Gift Aid eligible?

If you are a UK taxpayer we can claim Gift Aid on your donations when you make a Gift Aid Declaration to the World Land Trust.

When you donate to WLT online, or sign up as a supporter, you will have an opportunity to make a Gift Aid declaration as part of the sign up process. (Please note that we need to have a record of the donor's home address to be able to claim Gift Aid.)

How do I cancel my Gift Aid declaration?

To amend your Gift Aid status, contact the World Land Trust.

Which donations are not Gift Aid eligible?

Some types of donations are not eligible for Gift Aid:

  • Company donations
  • Collections and Fundraising (Where WLT has no Gift Aid declarations from individual contributors)

Fundraising and Gift Aid
