Ranger Galo Vélez helps protect a nature reserve in Ecuador

Working to safeguard important Choco forest in the Río Canandé Reserve, head ranger Galo provides data for the Carbon Balanced programme by the World Land Trust.

Galo is a strong believer in the benefits of Carbon Balanced, which enables people to offset their unavoidable emissions while protecting biodiversity-rich habitats, and he is enthusiastic about engaging local communities.

Galo said: “There should be more opportunities given for local people to contribute to conservation, for example through reforestation campaigns.”
