World Land Trust (WLT) returned to Rutland Water in August 2015 for the British Birdwatching Fair (Birdfair), one of the world’s largest events dedicated to birds, wildlife and conservation.

A key event in the UK wildlife event calendar, Birdfair is the must-go-to gathering for anyone interested in bird watching and wildlife. The event has a full programme of lectures, book signings and special guest appearances. It also hosts hundreds of stands covering the spectrum of birdwatching activities, from eco-holidays to environmental conservation, from binoculars to bird food.

During the event, staff at WLT’s stand chated to visitors about the Trust’s global conservation work and the Trust’s network of conservation partners. Visitors to WLT’s stand also had the chance to meet representatives of WLT project partners from Belize (Programme for Belize) and Ecuador (Naturaleza y Cultura Ecuador). Visitors enjoyed a free hot drink courtesy of Puro Fairtrade Coffee.

Among the wildlife celebrities on the programme for Birdfair 2015 were: WLT Patron Chris Packham, WLT Council members Bill Oddie and Mark Carwardine, and WLT supporter Nick Baker.

A three day ticket for the event cost £31.50, day tickets are £13.50. Children under 16 entered free of charge.
