Sea Life London Aquarium, County Hall, Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7PB

An Ocean of Stars, a spectacular evening event at Sea Life London Aquarium celebrated the wonders of the marine world and the amazing creatures of the deep.

World Land Trust (WLT) had stand at the event, and representatives were on hand to talk to the public about WLT’s conservation work. Displays on the stand were centred on WLT’s conservation programme in Colombia, home to the Golden Poison Frog, and the focus of a fundraising effort by television presenter Steve Backshall in 2015.

For only £10 guests gained exclusive access to the London Aquarium after hours and received VIP treatment including free food and drink.

Alongside WLT, 12 other charities and conservation organisations had displays throughout the aquarium. The Shark Trust, Bite-Back Shark & Marine Conservation and the Marine Conservation Society gave talks between 8pm and 9pm on the night.

The event was a great opportunity to find out more about the planet’s fascinating underwater world and how to protect it. Visitors enjoyed a free glass of bubbly in the surroundings of Sea Life London’s breath-taking displays, in the company of Green Sea Turtles, Sand Tiger Sharks, Gentoo Penguins and other spectacular sea creatures.

Tombola prizes included the aquarium’s Feed the Turtles Experience and Snorkel with Sharks Experience.

All money raised on the night went to Sea Life Trust.
