Details:

Come to Halesworth to view Yvonne Forster's artwork celebrating the amazing diversity of flora and fauna found in the Amazon Rainforest as part of the forthcoming exhibition ‘Viewing Change’.

As well as depicting a wealth of wild diversity, Yvonne’s work engages the viewer with visually starker contrasts of deforestation and its effects on the land and its inhabitants.

Yvonne expresses her art through large images painted in vibrant water colours (seen in works such as the above image 'Rainforest Gems - Tree Frog') encapsulating the abundance of life found in the rainforest.

The darker side is represented through semi-abstract acrylic images. Through a combination of art mediums she explores the issues and endeavours to capture the changing landscapes caused by human activity and the ecological effects created particularly by the impact of fire deforestation.

Initially Yvonne found inspiration for this project through her time with World Land Trust (WLT) as an art student. By engaging with WLT's ethos and informed by research she was able to explore the ongoing issues the rainforests face.

Various artists have also been influential; mainly Franz Kracjberg and Paul Nash have inspired the emergence of her work so far. The title of a work by Nash 'We Are Making A New World,' resonates and rings true, though set in a different context.

Over 20 pieces will be on display, through which Yvonne attempts to encourage an engagement and contemplation of the ecological issues and consequences of fire deforestation within the Amazon Rainforest of Brazil.

A donation from the artwork sold will go towards WLT’s work conserving rainforests.
