A Legacy of Land
The WLT has been going over 20 years, and surprisingly, despite its dramatic growth and success in the last few years, relatively little of its income is from legacies. I am surprised, because legacies often relate to property, and I would expect the donating public to have made that link. I would also expect the executors of discretionary residual legacies to realise that one of the best ways of using the money derived from property is to put it back into property.
Of all the ways of helping the future of the planet, the one that can most clearly demonstrate benefit to future generations is the acquisition of land. So please spread the word. Make sure solicitors and executors are aware of us. Saving land, saves wildlife. And land is in increasingly short supply.
