At last text messaging for charity has been made worthwhile. When we tried it out a few years ago, the greatest beneficiaries were the phone companies, but now rumour has it that all UK mobile operators are offering 100% Charity Donations, it is well worthwhile.

The advantage for a charity is that it is a very cost effective way of collecting small amounts of money. A sort of on-line collecting  box, without having to shake it in someone's face. The only difference between a text donation and a normal online donation is that there is little scope for any form of personalised acknowledgment. But then text donations can be for small amounts -- a pound or two -- and very few people would expect a charity to spend money on time making a personalised acknowledgement.

So try it: A pint of beer in London costs between £3.00 and £5.00. Cheers.
Text WLT to 70300 to make a £3 donation.

As an afterthought, you could pass on the idea, and get your friend to buy ‘your’ beer as well. Make it a virtual, viral, pub-crawl for wildlife

We are your text service provider. Just to confirm that as of 1st April you are receiving 100% on all donations. Three and Virgin have back dated all their donations to 100% to that date.
