I'm not sure it's realistic to set "ideal" bands for salaries like this. If no Chief Executive were ever to earn more than 70K, why or how would they ever move to larger and larger organisations. By stevewexler, at 29 September, 2009 10:28 I would presume that people would move up because they were motivated by the job, not simply money. It is a sad fact that the modern world seems to only measure success in terms of financial reward. Just as Efficiency always seems to be measured by profits. However, it is not always efficient (in terms of social justice and other factors) to maximise profit. And I believe the same applies to salaries. Paying the most, does not always attract the best -- just the greediest.
