Falling Rhino numbers in Nepal


The One-horned Rhinoceros, a resident of Nepal's southwestern plain, is seemingly still under threat from poachers. 9 of the 31 Rhinoceros recorded in the area in 2007 have gone missing.

Satellite Imagery shows extent of Papua New Guinea deforestation


Images have been released that show the impact on a forest area of 8 years of sustained deforestation to make way for palm oil plantations.

Tropical storm set to steer its way ashore in Belize


The second tropical storm to hit the Americas this year has formed just off the coast of Belize and Mexico and is already moving toward land. Experts are predicting at least 10 inches of rainfall in the Yucatan area of Belize and Mexico.

Environmental minister chosen


Brazil's new envionmental minister, Carlos Minc, has been sworn into office after former minister Marina Silva said that she could no longer continue to do her job due to the policies of the Government in regards to the rainforest.

Whales Return to Patagonia to breed


Southern Right Whales have returned to the coast of Argentina to breed.
