Two mammal species found in New Guinea probably new to science

A pygmy possum and a giant rat discovered during an expedition in New Guinea are likely new to science according to researchers from Conservation International and Indonesia Institute of Science.

Uganda to plant millions of trees

Uganda's government has pledged to plant millions of trees over the next four years, to restore degraded forests and to establish a carbon sink that the country can earn carbon credits from.

Over half of the Amazon Forest could be destroyed or damaged by 2030

A combination of the effects of climate change and deforestation could severely damage or destroy more than half of the Amazon forests by 2030 warns WWF.

Tigers forced to move due to habitat loss

Tigers in India have been found in high mountains, where there is less interference from humans. Although suitable prey exist here, it is unknown how well the tigers will fare, as they are not as adaptable as leopards.
