Big blue mouse visits Norwich for World Land Trust

Press Release dated: Tuesday, August 14, 2007

On 31st August The Forum in Norwich will be visited by a large blue mouse who will be handing out literature on behalf of East Anglian charity, World Land Trust (WLT). The Mouse is on tour around England, raising awareness for local charities and everyclick.com. and WLT will have a stand in the foyer.

The World Land Trust has been raising funds through everyclick.com since November 2005, and so far nearly 100 supporters have raised £950.90. The WLT is an international conservation organisation that takes direct action to save rainforest and other critically threatened habitats around the world, buying it acre by acre. Sir David Attenborough is a Patron. The land that is purchased is turned into private nature reserves and protected for the future by local partner organizations, for the benefit of both wildlife and people. So far over 350,000 acres have been saved.

Everyclick.com is a search engine that helps charities, giving away 50% of their revenue. The mouse tour is a "Give Your Mouse a Heart" campaign. Mouse Manager, Emma Walton said: "There are so many smaller charities that have now benefited from everyclick we felt that it was time to send the mouse out to see them. The mouse is very good at raising awareness, and encouraging people to use their mouse to help charity, so we are delighted to be able to help."

The mouse also has a blog so everyone can follow their travels.
