WLT Supporters awarded 'Lender of the Year' for 4th year running

Stafford Railway is a small local Building Society which lends throughout England and Wales. It has been awarded the "Lender of the Year" accolade by What Mortgage? magazine four times: 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. There are over 100 mortgage lenders big and small in this country all competing for custom, and it is difficult to make a choice. But if a lender or adviser boasts a What Mortgage award then it is a leader in its field. When making their decision this year What Mortgage chose to award lenders that provided the most competitive Standard Variable rate over the past five years and once again Stafford Railway Building Society emerged top lender for the fourth year in a row. When announcing the winner in April, they said "this proves that you don't have to be big to be best as the SRBS has just one branch".
