Eagle Reintroduction in Ireland

The once common White-tailed Sea Eagle died out in Ireland after being trapped and shot throughout the 19th and 20th centuries,
Now in 2007, fifteen chicks are set to be released in Killarney National Park.

Scientists Claim the Amazon is the longest river

The Amazon river has always been recognised as the worlds largest river by its volume, however scientists, after an expedition to Peru claim to have found a new starting point making the Amazon river approximately 100km longer then the river Nile.

New species of Tree discovered in Scotland

Two specimens of the new to science Catacol Whitebeam (Sorbus pseudomeincichii) were discovered on the Isle of Arran by researchers.

Endangered Tigers have baby boom

84 Siberian Tiger cubs have been born in captivity since March 2007 giving this endangered species a boost in numbers.
