Massive herds found in Southern Sudan

Aerial surveys conducted by the World Conservation Society confirm the existence of over 1.2 million White-eared Kob, Tiang Antelope and Mongalla Gazelle in Southern Sudan, where wildlife was thought to have disappeared as a result of long standing conflicts.

Worlds oldest mammal survives harpoon attack 130 years ago

A 130 year old harpoon point was found embedded in the neck of a giant bowhead whale caught off the coast of Alaska.

International fund to fight deforestation

The World Bank is planning an international fund of at least $250 million to fight deforestation in countries within Latin America, Central Africa and Southeast Asia.
