After 400 years Cranes are back in East Anglia

RSPB staff stumbled across a Common Crane nest on Lakenheath fen during a routine survey, the first nest in 400 years found in East Anglia.

May 22nd is the day for biodiversity

The emphasis for 2007's International Biodiversity Day is Climate Change. Climate change affects people and biodiversity all over the world.

Rare sharks threatened by poor fisherman

Poor fisherman along the Western coast of India are threatening to undo conservation efforts by killing endangered Whale Sharks unless the governemnt gives them the fuel subsidies they were promised three years ago.

Giant Turtle found in Mekong may be the key to saving it's species

A female Cantor's Giant Soft-shell turtle was found on a nesting ground during a survey of the Mekong river in Cambodia. This species was last seen in Cambodia in 2003, now there are thoughts that this find may save the species from extinction.
