Rare Hummingbird soon to be extinct

The Gorgeted Puffleg, a species of Hummingbird discovered only two years ago in Colombia is endanger of extinction unless it's habitat is protected against deforestation.

Land reclamation starves shore birds in South Korea

400 square km of Saemangeum land reclamation has removed one of the largest feeding grounds on the Yellow sea, starving the 400,000 migratory birds that pass by a year and leaving at least two species facing extinction.

Sharks protected in a new marine reserve in Australia

The creation of a 300 hectare reserve at the Cod Grounds about four miles off the New South Wales coast has been announced by the Ausralian government to protect Grey Nurse sharks.
