Cutting down pine forests could slow global warming

Scientists claim that trees growing in the colder regions of the world increase the earths absorption of sunlight by shading the reflective snow. Findings suggest these forests are adding more to global warming then they take away by the removal of cardon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Bumblebee habitats planted in the golfers "green deserts"

In the past 20 years, as agriculture has removed the plants they rely on for food, bumblebee numbers have fallen by 70 per cent. Four British golf clubs have responded by creating bumblebee refuges in the rough areas beyond the fairways of their courses by planting pollen rich and nectar-bearing flowers.

Outrage across Europe as spring hunting opens in Malta

Across Europe bird conservation organisations have united in protest against the Maltese government for allowing spring hunting to continue, despite legal action taken by the European commission. The European birds directive prohibited spring hunting to protect wild birds on their migration from Africa to breeding grounds in Europe.
