Mabira Rainforest protestors killed by Ugandan government

Two local rainforest conservationists were shot dead by Ugandan police according to BBC, while protesting against government plans to clear forest land for a sugar company.

Canada joins coalition to combat animal trafficking

Environmental Minister John Baird has announced that Canada is to join an international coalition to help combat illegal trafficking of wildlife.

Otters are back in Britains cleaner waters

50 years on from the brink of extinction otters are making a comeback. At one time, as few as 300 were thought to be left in the UK. But thanks to various projects to restore wetland habitats otters have been spotted in places they have not been seen in decades.
