British Birdwatching Fair 2005
Meet the WLT:
Meet the WLT at the Bird Fair
Bird Fair - General Information
Taking place from August 19th to 21st at Egleton Nature Reserve, Rutland Water, the British Birdwatching Fair (or Bird Fair as it has become known) caters not just for bird-lovers but all wildlife enthusiasts. Now in its 17th year the Bird Fair just gets better and better.
With stands covering everything from international conservation to bird food, books, photography and tourism, the Fair is always a great day out for families and birding enthusiasts alike.
World Land Trust will, once again, be in Marquee 4 and as well as staff members and trustees, you will also be able to meet representatives from two of the Trust’s international conservation partners – Programme for Belize and Fundación Jocotoco. They will be on hand with the latest information about these projects and will be pleased to tell you about what it is like to visit these areas.
Lectures will take place throughout the weekend. Richard Mabey will give the Celebrity Lecture on Friday evening and WLT’s Honorary President, Dr Gerard Bertrand, will be giving a lecture on ‘Record Breaking Birdwatching’, at 3pm on Friday.
The Bird Fair is exceptionally well organised and a very worth-while event, with profits going to conservation – so far the Fair has raised over £1-million for conservation projects.
