New Logging Permits Banned in Amazon

After a crackdown on official corruption one of the Amazon states in Brazil has now suspended new logging permits. 90 government officials and businessmen suspected of being involved in illegal logging were arrested in the state, where 119,000 acres of Amazon rainforest have been illegally cut down over the past two years.
