Japan Loses Commercial Whaling Vote 


Latest News Headlines

A commercial whaling scheme proposed by Japan was rejected by the International Whaling Commission on Monday, despite the pro-whaling lobby having a small majority in the Commission for the first time since a moratorium on commercial whaling was introduced. According to Japan the scheme would promote sustainable commercial whaling, but it has been severely criticised for allowing even more whales to be killed.
