Saving tropical forests good for coffee

Conserving tropical forests can benefit coffee plantations according to a study for the WWF. When there is a forest nearby, wild bees may pollinate the coffee trees, resulting in higher yields and healthier coffee beans. Peaberries - small, deformed seeds resulting from inadequate pollination - were 27 percent less likely to be produced by coffee trees visited by wild bees, according to the researchers.
