The Trust was originally formed to raise funds for the Programme for Belize, and Sir David wrote a letter of support when it was launched, that appeared in the Today newspaper, which donated £25,000 to the project. Later Sir David was a founding member of the Trust's Authors and Artists for Conservation (now Green Ink) that donates public lending rights to the Trust. And over the years he has continued to support the Trust in a variety of ways, culminating in his being the Guest of Honour at a fundraising event for the Christopher Parsons Rainforest, in memory of his former friend and the producer of Life on Earth. The event has raised over $30,000 so far, and a reserve is being created in Ecuador. Share this press release with your friends: Links to this press release: |
