Susan graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in the late 70's with a degree in Fine Art. Having had an artist mother, Molly Smith, and, now has an artist son, Leo du Feu. Has worked in primary and community education since then, running art workshops. In the last ten years has developed her own work more, and has a great interest in the environment and natural history, her work reflects this.
Susan sketches and paints out of doors, when necessary finishing work in her studio. Favourite places to work are Holy Isle, opposite Arran, and the Montrose Basin area, where she has a static caravan. She is a printmaker, Member of the Fife Dunfermline Print Workshop, painter, and weaver, having set up Greenpark Weavers in West Lothian.
Her work is exhibited regularly throughout Scotland. This year she is also taking part in the Forth Valley Open Studios event 8th to the 16th of June, at her studio in Falkirk.
