Isabel Hutchison is a self-taught artist for whom painting and drawing played an integral part of her childhood. Travel abroad, initially to Australia and Asia, proved a good starting point for Isabel's artistic career. Subsequent travels took Isabel around the globe mainly to Africa and Asia, visiting the wildlife in the Kruger National Park primarily, where she gained material for her artwork. From there she began her series of The Big Five after meeting a lone Bull whilst driving alone on a back road. More recent trips have taken her to Kenya where she was able to study in the more natural environments of the Masai Mara and Serengetti, as well as visiting the Lake Nakuru National Park and the much loved Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Orphanage for Elephants.
Isabel's paintings and etchings have been exhibited in a variety mixed shows and she has also had her work published in a number of books and greetings cards.
