Rutland Water, Oakham,
15, 16 & 17 August 2008

It was another successful year at the British Birdwatching Fair on the shores of Rutland Water, Oakham as the sun managed to shine and the rain held off throughout much of the weekend.

World Land Trust staff had the opportunity to talk to many visitors about the work being done to conserve habitats around the world and protect the species within them.

WLT were joined on their usual stall in Marquee 4 by representatives from project partners Guyra Paraguay, Programme for Belize and REGUA from Brazil, who where able to offer more in depth information about their specific conservation projects and the opportunities for visiting these sites through the tourism initiatives they have set up. Funds raised through sensitive tourism is a major source of income for the sustainability of each of the reserves.

Thank you to everyone who came along, we hope we can count on your continued support throughout the year and look forward to seeing you again at the 2009 Birdfair when WLT will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
