Sponsored Silence

Elephants - image by Tori Radcliffe

In April 2005, we received the following letter:

Dear World Land Trust

I have collected all the money in from sponsored silence. It comes to a grand total of £120.31! Please put this money where it is most needed. Thank you very much.

Tori Ratcliffe, age 13

Tori managed to stay silent for a whole 12 hours! Well done, Tori and many thanks for your donation. Please pass on our thanks to all of those who sponsored your silence. The money raised will buy almost five acres of threatened wildlife habitat.

The money will be used for our most urgent project needs. Currently these are

  • Saving tropical forests in Ecuador
  • Protecting threatened coastal steppe in Patagonia
  • Safe-guarding an elephant corridor in India
