Newton Primary, DunblaneEmerald Crown productionClasses P5 and P4/5 from Newton Primary in Dunblane wrote to tell us about their Emerald Crown production. The children had been studying rainforests and decided to raise money to help save them. The production (originally written by Debbie Campbell for WWF) is about a group of toucans who find their tree being burnt by some workers. A 21st Century Businessman has paid them lots of money to clear the trees for agriculture and for a highway. The toucans go to see their friends the anaconda and the jaguar and together they save the Rainforest. The event was a big success and ticket sales, together with a raffle and guess the toucan's birthday game, raised £200, allowing the children to save 8 acres of rainforest.
