George and Harry serving food in the rainforest cafe.

Laxton Junior School, Oundle

Rainforest Cafe

Having learnt about tropical rainforests and the threats facing them, George Frankel and Henry Orlebar decided that they wanted to do something to help protect these amazing areas.

With help from their year group the boys had the idea of hosting a rainforest cafe with drinks and snacks on sale to fellow pupils and parent inspired by the rainforest. With delicious sounding delicacies such as banana munch cake, toucan choc chip cookies and pineapple fruit punch all served in the rainforest cafe specially designed and built by the children, George and Harry raised £177.20 to save 7 acres of tropical rainforest in Ecuador.
