Coombe Hill Junior School

Eco DayDrawing endangered species

Coombe Hill's Green Team (12 children, one from each class, a teacher and a governor) decided this year to go for the silver Eco Schools award, having already received the bronze award. One criterion for the silver award is that the school develops a whole school project in order to raise awareness about environmental issues.

Panda Masks

The school chose to hold an eco day, where each year group learnt about a different aspect of being environmentally aware. This included a wear your own clothes day, where each student paid £1 to wear their own clothes to school and the Green Team chose to donate the money raised to saving the tropical forests of South America with the World Land Trust.

Year 3 learnt about endangered animals, like the panda, tiger and polar bear as part of the Eco day and produced some wonderful pictures and masks.
