Fundraising for the Rainforest

Year Six pupils from Bartley Junior School decided to raise money to help protect rainforests in South America after learning about their deforestation. They organised a variety of fund raising events including:

  • a summer fair selling cakes, bric and brac and plants
  • taking part in a sponsored spell
  • holding a non school uniform day
  • washing cars

The events were very successful and raised an amazing £850 for tropical forests in Ecuador The money will be used to save 34 acres of tropical rainforest and will help to protect many plants and animals including the Spectacled Bear, Jaguar, Ocelot and Three-toed Sloths.
