What Sir David Attenborough didn't say

In his speech on Earth Optimism Day, Sir David Attenborough added his own 'glorious piece of optimism' by describing how conservationists working together all over the world had persuaded the Sabahan government in Malaysian Borneo to cancel the construction of the 'Sukau Bridge'.

This highway bridge would have been built over the Kinabatangan River and through adjacent wildlife reserves protecting the last remaining pieces of Bornean Rainforest habitat. Humbly, what Sir David did not say in his speech was his crucial role in preventing the bridge from being built. Find out more here »

Backshalls complete 'Race for Borneo' and smash £100,000 fundraising target

Steve and Helen Backshall’s ‘Race for Borneo’ for the Saving Kinabatangan appeal has exceeded the initial £100,000 target, after an enormous wave of support from their supporters. 

At £167,624, we are now over halfway towards the £250,000 needed to fund the Kinabatangan land purchases.
