Once a year in March, World Land Trust (WLT) makes a special effort to persuade all its supporters to do just one simple thing that doesn’t cost a penny but could raise £25,000.
And that one simple thing? To cast an online vote in a poll organised by the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA). In 2016 WLT is backing Saving the Spectacled Bear, a conservation project developed by Fundación Jocotoco, one of WLT’s four conservation partners in Ecuador.
The Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) is classified as globally Vulnerable and in Ecuador as locally Endangered by IUCN. The bear’s habitat is gradually disappearing, threatened by road building and fire, agriculture and the spread of human settlement. Your vote could make all the difference. Read more
